Weekly Markets

Food, clothing and local specialties fill markets across the Lake Garda region — most run from 8:00 to 13:00. There’s one nearly every day: tap a name to open the map, and the minutes are the drive from Cavallina.

Monday

  • Calmasino ↗ 10 min

Village-centre stalls in the hills above Bardolino — everyday food and clothing. A short stop rather than a morning out.

  • Peschiera del Garda ↗ 20 min

At the Porta Brescia car park just outside the Venetian walls: fruit and vegetables, cheese, clothing — then a walk into the fortified town.

  • Torri del Benaco ↗ 25 min

Piazza Calderini and the lakefront, under the castle walls. Small and pretty, mostly food, linen and summer clothes.

  • San Zeno di Montagna ↗ 25 min

Piazza Schena, up on the Monte Baldo terrace — a mountain village market: cheese, salumi, honey, work clothes.

  • Sirmione (Colombare) ↗ 30 min

Via Colombare on the mainland side, before the causeway. Clothes, shoes and household stalls rather than souvenirs.

Tuesday

  • Cavaion Veronese ↗ 5 min

Piazza delle Palafitte — the closest market to us. Fruit and vegetables, cheese, plants and household goods.

  • Cisano di Bardolino ↗ 12 min

Beside the little harbour: food stalls, olive oil from the Cisano presses, and the olive oil museum a few steps away.

  • Castelnuovo del Garda ↗ 20 min

A town-centre market in the hills behind Peschiera — produce, local products and clothing, and few visitors.

  • Castelletto di Brenzone ↗ 35 min

Along Via Nascimbeni on the eastern shore: lake fish, cheese, beach things and summer clothes.

  • Limone sul Garda ↗ 55 min

On the lakefront promenade — lemons, citrus preserves and olive oil among the clothing stalls. Spring to December.

Wednesday

  • Lazise ↗ 15 min

Largo Marconi and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, inside the medieval walls. One of the bigger ones: food, clothing, leather, flowers.

  • Sirmione (Colombare) ↗ 30 min

A farmers’ market in Piazza Virgilio — a dozen growers with vegetables, cheese and Lugana wine, sold direct.

  • Riva del Garda ↗ 55 min

Piazza 3 Novembre under the Trentino cliffs, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month: alpine cheese, speck, honey and wool.

Thursday

  • Bardolino ↗ 12 min

The big one on this shore — stalls the whole length of the lakefront: clothes, shoes, leather, cheese, oil and wine. Arrive early for parking.

  • Bussolengo ↗ 20 min

A large inland market in the town centre. Practical and cheap — household goods, fabric, plants, and the garden nurseries nearby.

Friday

  • Garda ↗ 15 min

Via San Francesco and the promenade: the shoreline classic — lake fish, cheese, wine and fruit, with a long row of clothing stalls.

  • Sirmione (Lugana) ↗ 30 min

Piazzale Lido Lugana at the southern end — a smaller neighbourhood market, food and everyday goods.

  • Riva del Garda ↗ 55 min

The Via Roma farmers’ market: Trentino producers with mountain apples, cheese, rye bread and cured meat.

Saturday

  • Caprino Veronese ↗ 10 min

Piazza Stringa and Piazza della Vittoria fill up for the market of the Baldo foothills — cheese, salumi, seeds, tools and clothing.

  • Calmasino ↗ 10 min

Via Monte Baldo, km-0 only: fruit, vegetables, cheese and honey sold by the farmers who grew them.

  • Bardolino ↗ 12 min

Piazzale della Battaglia, 8:30–13:00 — a producers’ market with rice, oil, honey, cheese and cured meat, no middlemen.

  • Pacengo di Lazise ↗ 18 min

Piazza Marengo, a little above the lake — compact and local, food and everyday goods.

  • Malcesine ↗ 45 min

Corso Garibaldi behind the harbour: the northern shore’s market, with the Monte Baldo cable car if you want to make a day of it.

  • Verona ↗ 30 min

Mercato dello Stadio, around the Bentegodi — hundreds of stalls of clothes, fabric and shoes. The city’s biggest, and nothing to do with the lake.

Sunday

  • Costermano sul Garda ↗ 8 min

Piazza San Francesco, 8:00–12:30. A Campagna Amica farmers’ market: wine, oil, cheese, vegetables and preserves from Verona growers.

  • Castelnuovo del Garda ↗ 20 min

Via Roma, 9:00–13:00 — another Campagna Amica market: small, entirely food, straight from the producers.

  • Sommacampagna ↗ 25 min

First Sunday of the month, Piazza della Repubblica, 9:00–13:00: the Slow Food Mercato della Terra — some forty producers, ancient grains, cheese, wine and bread.
